î Server Management Architecture
IRCONA has developed several solutions for the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) and Server Management Controllers.

Solutions were developed for Single Board Computers at the low end and scaling up to 4 Way Hyper Treading Technology™ Servers at the high end.

Designs are based on QLogic, Intel and Agilent Controllers for BMC and 68K/PowerPC/ARM for the SBC based Server Management Card.

Systems were designed to be fully manageable remotely over the wire/internet for solutions in particular for Telecom, Automation and Control, Medical and in general for all other markets.

1.  Major Partner OEM Opportunity:

The challenge was to address a non-consumption market opportunity identified by a major Partner.  The current product was overdeveloped for this new market.  The analysis focused on major costs and price deltas to access this market which could reach cost points with current product, supply and business models. 
The solution was to totally re-feature the product to meet lower expectations of this new market, supply through a cost conscious V's service conscious supply chain and develop a shared reward business model.
The product was delivered to market within 1 year at 50% cost and price reductions, product ramped to $4M a Qtr and totalled $64M to date.

The challenge, our Partner needed to access an existing established market where an also-ran product was not going to be successful.
We identified points of inflection in the market where a change was already happening then focused on products that were highly targeted to enter this market from the cost conscious end.  We would  then value up the product and service over time.
The result was a released product to market in 24 months that ramped quickly to $10M per Qtr to a total revenue of $100M to date, and achieved market dominance in 2 market segments.

Our customers Industry was moving to a lower cost Operating System and Software Solutions which massively undermined a proprietary offering.
The major risk was losing customers, with attrition growing from 5% to 10% per annum  The challenge was how to move to lower price offering while maintaining revenues and margins
Our solution was to rapidly move to a lower cost Operating System offering and develop more of the solution stack within this offering, thereby increasing value to the end customer.
The result was to maintain the Average Selling Price whilst defending against upcoming entrants, retaining the customers and opening up new markets for lower priced offerings (without solution stack).  Revenues ramped quickly from $4M per Qtr to a total of $40M to date.  New sales are now 50% replacement of proprietary solutions.

î Software Developments with On Board Controllers
IRCONA have delivered several embedded solutions for BMC On Board Server Management for complex High Availability and Telecom products. Products based on QLogic, Intel, Aglient and written in both Assembler and "C". We also developed many embedded solutions for Remote Access, Security, Storage Enclosure Management and Power Control.

î Software Developments in Diagnostics and Test Automation
IRCONA have delivered Test Harness platforms and Diagnostics for Highly configured Systems Validation and Test, including several test harnesses for Automation of Product Validation and Test Cycles, for many Intel and RISC based platforms.
